I’ve always loved to engage people in societal topics through original, fun and insightful ways. In doing so, I enjoy working with creative, advertising, communications and/or marketing professionals, designers and artists. Examples of roles I’ve played include:
Advocate: spearheaded a variety of advocacy initiatives to mobilize companies behind climate action, representing DSM and its CEO with initiatives such as the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, United Nations, World Economic Forum Climate CEOs, We Mean Business, CDP, RE100, Prince of Wales’ Corporate Leaders Group and various WBCSD climate initiatives.
Speech writer: wrote CEO speeches and narratives for top level events, such as the G20, One Planet Summit, UN Climate Summits, World Bank Spring Meetings and online campaigns.
Author: created a variety of publications.
Behavioral change optimist: since 2019, focused on learning all about environmental behavioral change, social marketing and the best ways of engaging people in climate change. See my Biography to learn which courses I took, for example, those taught by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, Duke University and the Academy of Change.
Campaigner: helped create new campaigns such as the School Rooftop Revolution (Dutch: Schooldakrevolutie) and strengthened existing ones, such as the WakaWaka Solar for Syria campaign.
Music innovator: re-imagined and rewrote songs, such as “Price Tag” - Jessie J (which was performed live at GreenBiz to sing the Governor of California on stage about carbon pricing) to “Ironic” - Alanis Morissette (for Royal DSM’s leadership and key suppliers).
Below are some examples of how I’ve been using (and developing) my creativity to finds new ways to inspire people to feel more connected to each other and our beautiful planet.
